I didn’t mean to be rude in the keyshot community with ps questions, but I really want to know how can I solve the problem of the white spots on the surface, with keyshot way or ps way, thanks!
Easiest way is to use only a HDR image for lights and no other spot lights, area lights etc. Saves me a lot of fire flies most of the time (especially when there are metal objects in the scene).
Try and give the firefly filter a try under the denoise settings. Might help you knock some of those hotspots down. I would be careful about using too much of the effect though, it might cause you to loose the punchiness of those metal highlights.
But sometimes we need spotlights to get the lighting effects that we want
Yes, I’ve tried denoise and firefly filter, there is no one-size-fits-all method
True, but I think in this case you can perfectly handle it with one HDR. Basically we live the HDR live with only one big sphere light (the sun).
I would really like (it’s in my suggestions) KeyShot would provide a plugin for HDR Light Studio - Make and edit image-based lighting in your 3D software (lightmap.co.uk) which is basically a tool to create your own HDRI’s.
The HDRI editor in KS is also nice but this one has more features and is easier to be really precise. I’m not sure if the trial version of the tool has a save option but might be worth a look for the kind of renders you create.
Thanks a lot, by the way, you know how to do the Dunning-Kruger effect in the keyshot? I’ve seen the tutorial in the luminaries before, but I can’t find it any more
Dunning-Kruger? Didn’t that having to do with less bright people overestimating their own knowledge/skills? Or like John Cleese said: “If you are really, really stupid, then it’s impossible for you to know you are really, really stupid.”
